The Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer laboratory of the Central Instrumentation Laboratory, DUVASU, Mathura is equipped with the Perkin Elmer AAnalyst 400 and HGA 900. AAS is a sophisticated instrument that helps analyze the concentration of heavy metals and other elements of nutritional and biological importance in biological/liquid samples, based on the absorption of energy at specific wavelengths (190–900 nm). The equipment is fitted with Flame, Mercury Hydride Generation (MHG), and Graphite Furnace attachments for the analysis of Pb, Cd, Hg, As, Ni, Mo, Ca, Fe, Mn, Cu, Zn, Na, Cr, Se, and other elements.
