About the Institute
U.P. Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Pashu Chikitsa Vigyan Evam Go Anusandhan, Mathura takes pride in being a pioneer in the initiation of Diploma Programmes, started with the financial support of the Government under ‘Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana’. In view of the requirement for trained human resources able to render primary veterinary services under the guidance of veterinarians, DUVASU established the Institute of Para Veterinary Science.
Programmes Offered
Diploma in Veterinary Pharmacy
2 years with a 3-month internship. Intended for those who wish to become pharmacists in the animal health industry: elementary management, physiology and nutrition of livestock and poultry, animal health and ailments, clinical diagnostic methods and sample collection, compounding and dispensing of pharmaceutical preparations, preliminary surgical procedures, artificial insemination and public health care services including zoonosis.
Diploma in Livestock Extension
2 years. Covers basic animal nutrition and livestock production and management, livestock products and processing, importance of feed and fodder, animal husbandry extension and rural welfare, diseases of livestock and poultry, sample collection and laboratory diagnosis, compounding and dispensing of pharmacy preparations, elementary surgical procedures, and techniques like artificial insemination and semen handling.
